Here's what we are going to do:
Back Of Neck Release -
To begin this neck pain treatment take both of your hands and place your fingertips on the back of your neck. Press your fingertips into the muscle tissue on the back of your neck and notice any tender spots. Remember, tender tissue means the tissue is "too tight," and if this "too tight tissue" is released your pain will often be released along with it.
Now pick one tender spot and do the press-hold-move technique on that one spot by taking your opposite hand from the side the tender tissue is on…..and now reach over the back of your neck to press on the tender tissue. You can then nod "yes" as do the press-hold-move technique, and/or turn your head toward the side of your neck that you are working on.
You can also use the hand-on-hand technique to add more pressure to the press-hold-move technique if it's comfortable for you to do so. But remember, you only want to press on the tissue as hard as you can relax into. Any more than that and you'll just be working against yourself.
Be patient and persistent with each spot, but also feel free to move to another spot on the same side of your neck……or even jump to the opposite side for a bit and release some tender spots over there. This neck pain treatment "quick fix" is very flexible. Eventually, you'll work on all the tender spots, so take your time and even take a break if you need to.
Do both sides of your neck.
Take a moment and notice how much pain relief releasing the back of your neck has provided.
Side Of Neck Release -
The second part of this neck pain treatment quick fix is to release the muscles on the side of your neck. Take your fingertips and feel for any tender spots on the muscles that run up the side of your neck.
Now with your fingertips of one hand, either from the same side you're working on or using the opposite hand (use whatever hand is most comfortable for you) do the press-hold-move technique, and if it seems to help you also add the hand-on-hand technique to add a bit more power.
Tilting your head from side to side will be the most common movement to get the press-hold-move technique done properly. But play around a bit and you'll find there's a way to move your head to help release the tissue you are pressing on.
Do both sides of your neck.

Base of Skull to Top of Neck Release -
This third and final phase of our neck pain treatment quick fix will once again rely on the press-hold-move technique and the hand-on-hand technique to get the job done.
Take your fingertips from both hands and press on the tissue from the bottom two inches of your skull to the top two inches of your neck. Press around and notice all the tender spots.
Now pick a tender spot and do the press-hold-move with the hand-on-hand technique, while you nod "yes" and turn your head "no" to make that tissue under your fingertips move and then release. If one spot is too stubborn, work on a different spot for a while and come back later.
Do both sides of your neck.
Take a moment and notice how much pain relief working on this area has provided.
